SKILL AND TALENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME (STEP)
We feel that the regular curriculum oriented academic
programme plays the role of only one dimension of the total development of a student. It is an accepted truth that it
becomes inadequate for the total career development of a
student. As a result of a series of discussions and case
studies, the college has formulated a special scheme called STEP aimed at the multi dimensional development
of the student. AWH Engineering College is in the process of having a tie
up with the Indian Institute of Management
Kozhikode-one of the top Management Schools in India-for the
Development of a detailed scheme for STEP formulated
through interaction with faculty members and students.
STEP is based on the concept that with positive
reinforcement and proper training in
special areas of personality development, students with varied
background will achieve success in their fields. STEP
envisages to provide a wide range of interrelated programs,
lectures, workshops, services and activities
STEP will be spread over four academic year, which goes
along with the regular course schedule. Participation in
STEP is open to all students at AWH.
STEP also plans to organize special program for
selected group of students to prepare them for higher-level
competitive exams.
Activities of STEP
will include
Personal &
career development assistance
training in various aspects of
organizational behavior,
training in civic responsibility &
community outreach, counseling and advising,
instilling moral and ethical values.
STEP will help the development of competencies such as,
communication skill and effective teamwork, ability to
analyze and provide creative solutions to problems, self
reliance in approaching open-ended problems,
understanding of the social, economic, environmental and
ethical impact of engineering decisions.
